In addition to being man’s best friend, dogs are the focal point of one of Baltimore County’s most popular fall festivals. Reisterstown’s annual Dogfest and Walk, scheduled for this September 21st, is a family-friendly celebration of all things canine. The most publicized event is a one-mile charity trail walk through the local wildlife sanctuary, but keep in mind there’s plenty more to see and do. Other attractions include contests, games, dog agility competitions, vendors selling pet-related merchandise, and plenty of food vendors selling tasty treats (for humans and pets alike).
Purchase your tickets online before September 19th and you can snag deep discounts on the door price. All proceeds from the event go toward helping the Baltimore Humane Society purchase a new "shelter shuttle" van that helps transport animals to and from rescue facilities. Gates open at 10 a.m., and parking is free.
